1978 Fender Stratocaster Left Hand Players Grade
A vintage lefty strat is quite hard to find, a players grade example even harder. Here we have a superb strat from 34 yearrs ago, genuine factory left hand with reverse thread trem arm and with a few changes from standard to move this into the players category. You can gig with a genuine late 70s strat for less money than a current guitar and with the performance changes that many guys would make anyway although probably not in today’s market given the desirability of non-modified vintage guitars.
SN # S868668, the serial number is also on the printed label inside the neck pocket. The bridge pickup area has been routed for a humbucker, a Seymour Duncan 59b is fitted, the middle pickup has been changed for a Duncan 1/4 pounder. Whilst these changes take the guitar far away from standard spec they elevate the performance of the guitar, now you have all the power you need in the bridge and neck positions. The neck pickup is original, there is a small hole in the original pickguard (see images), the pickup selector switch has been upgraded to a 5 way.
The tuners have been upgraded to Schaller, the nut has been changed also. All of the other components are factory standard. The pots date to 43rd week 1978 and everything works. The guitar has been restrung with D’addario 11-49 gauge strings.
Original hardshell case is included.
