1957 Gibson ES175
Exciting find of the week, a one owner guitar from 1957 and all original too, nothing has been changed from day one to now. It’s not often that a 55 yr old guitar arrives that is completely unmolested, The guitar was obtained from the family of the gentleman who first bought this back in 1957, he really did take care of it and there is no wear or buckle rash on the back of the guitar. There are no repairs of any kind, original frets, the cans that cover the volume and tone pot have never been opened, the original orange label bearing serial number A26309 is firmly stuck in place
The guitar is equipped with a PAF pickup which makes this a highly desirable guitar, original tuners and original nut,it really is in remarkable condition, complete with original hard-shell case, there are some 1950s Gibson string wrappers in the case pocket, some of them contain old worn out strings, it was unusual at all for folks to keep old strings and even to boil them to wring the last amount of life out of them, the strings are unusable but the packets are a piece of Gibson history, all in all a magnificent piece of American archtop history with an entire life of playing left in her yet.
